Non-native English Speaking Children at International School

Some parents have chosen that their children be educated in English rather than in their mother tongue.

These children can sometimes experience difficulties in learning to read and write English. Though schools on this coast provide an excellent education for their students, sometimes pupils / children prefer to have additional tuition in another environment by another teacher.

The English Language Centre provides classes where these children can meet up with others in similar circumstances to improve their language skills. “Chatterbox” welcomes children of all nationalities.

These classes are taken by a fully qualified and experienced native English language teacher. The lessons are carefully programmed to compliment the work being done at the child´s main place of education.

The children attend lessons for one hour twice a week.

The classes will incorporate reading, writing and conversation at the appropriate level.

For some children this may be their only access to native English speakers outside of school, as their parents may or may not be proficient in the language. It therefore provides valuable additional practice, in a less formal and more relaxed atmosphere.

The English Language Centre runs classes for all levels of ability from the very earliest stages of reading, through to the more challenging senior school examination levels. The groups are kept very small in order for the student to get maximum benefit.

Feedback from some of our parents....

Pedro just loves coming here. He loves the atmosphere and we are happy that he has additional help that we cannot give him.
